History of THE COLLEGE
KLDAV PG College was founded in 1960 by Rai Sahab Kanhaiya Lal ji a renowned philanthropist of Roorkee who established many Educational institutes in Roorkee.
To fulfill the need of Tertiary level Science education, he founded the College in 1960 under the aegis of Agra University with Mr. Ishwar Dayal as the first principal.
The college is moving under the able leadership of Prof. Gopal Ranjan Ex-Pro Vice Chanceller of Univ. of Roorkee and President of the college Management Committee.
Today the college has grown to be a Post Graduate College with research facilities, fulfilling the dream of its founders. Today the College functions under the aegis of HNB Garhwal University ,Shrinagar excelling in teaching and research in Sceince and Education.
The well known shrine of Sabir Sahed , Piran kaliyar is almost 7 km from here and the holy ciy of Ganges , Haridwar is just 30 Kms away.
College was accredited by National Assessment and Accredition Council (NAAC) in the year 2004 with Grade B in Science & B in Education for a period of 5 Years.
B.Sc. classes in Maths started in 1960 and B.Ed. Classes started in 1964. B.Sc. (Bio) classes started in 1972.
During last six years , Post Graduate programmes in various subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics , Zoology , Botany and Physics have been started beside B.Sc. in applied subjects such as Microbiology and Computer Sciences.
KLDAV PG College has seen enviable growth over the years. Today it is not only one of the most distinguished post-graduate co-educational institutions in Roorkee but is also, by many accounts, the College of first choice of students.
